Castle Stuart Golf Links has opened to tremendous acclaim. Indeed, many are saying that Parsinen’s latest foray in Scottish golf beats even his layout at Kingsbarns - an established European Tour event host.
With that East coast masterpiece, Parsinen transformed what had been an area of unkempt links into one of the most talked about courses in the world, and he and Hanse have achieved exactly the same effect on the banks of the Moray Firth.
The level of acclaim it has enjoyed hasn’t been confined to Scotland either. A highly reputable US-based survey of the finest golf courses in the world has justnamed Castle Stuart as the very best newcomer of 2009.
A higher accolade than that can scarcely be imagined.
It was five years in the making but 2010 will be the first full year that golf will be played on Castle Stuart’s links, which is but a ten-minute drive from Inverness city centre.
